    My favorite chuck

Comments On Feb 05, 2019:A few years ago I was working on a mini lathe and decided I needed a chuck. Hubby bought me one of these for Christmas.
Neither of us had a clue about the different brands and types so it was just blind luck and budget guiding the decision.
Fast forward to the present Iâ??m turning on a Laguna 2436 and this is STILL my favorite chuck. Any time the project is the right size I reach for it.
It turns true, is easy to use (no dovetails) is budget friendly and has never given me a reason to doubt it.
Iâ??ve turned 12â?? blanks on it, though I probably shouldnâ??t have. But it was what I had and I didnâ??t know any better at the time. It is wonderful for turning small projects because itâ??s small enough to stay out of the way and tough enough to hold on good and tight.

    Great mini-chuck

Comments On Aug 05, 2014:I use this mini-chuck on my Bonnie Klein micro-lathe for demonstrating at the gallery and shows. The 4 jaws cover everything I need, the chuck is well built and the case is great...except that I have to take the insert out to close the lid. I will also use it on my Jet mini lathe and even on my Powermatic (with a spindle adapter )for making small items.

    Good for what it is!

Comments On Jan 04, 2014:I've had this mini chuck for over a year now and it has been a good, welcome addition to my wood turning tools. It is not for big, heavy stock, but for holding little items, it is perfect. I use it mainly for turning miniature bird houses, ornaments, and small boxes. Jaws are easy to switch and it has not come loose while turning. For turning little things, it makes it a little less scary to turn close to the chuck, since it is smaller than my Oneway talon chuck, leaving more hand room between me and the chuck.
