Ruth Niles Threaded Steel Inserts
Turning a Kitchware Project Handle
Threading Wood and Acrylics
Additional Comments On Dec 16, 2021:Good quality kit that is easy to make & gratifying. I recommend using a t-handle tap wrench to cut the threads manually. The tap bit is very sharp and cuts through even the hardest timbers with little force. Doing it with an electric drill seems unnecessarily unwieldy. A nice tap wrench is only $20.

Comments On Mar 17, 2021:I have been turning these coffee scoops for about 4 years (started out at less than $5 each). The kit is well constructed and easy to assemble after handle is turned. I have given out as gifts to friends and family and sell quite a few at a local craft store. Great item.

Comments On Feb 10, 2018:We started making these as gifts for family and friends but they turned out to be pretty popular so we started selling them. They are very easy to make. We use the 1x1 blanks vs the 1.5x1.5 the bigger blanks are too much waste in my opinion and using a pen blank is too small.

Comments On Aug 19, 2015:This coffee scoop makes a great project. I use mine daily and it holds up to the use. I really appreciate that the bottom of the scoop is flat and it sits nicely on my shelf by my coffee maker. I have seen other people complain about having only 1 tbsp scoops, but to me it makes sense--1 scoop per cup of water makes perfect coffee! Can't get much easier.
Be sure to get the mandrel to complete this kit.

Comments On Jul 31, 2015:"One heaping scoop yields approximately one table spoon"
Maybe I just like my coffee a little darker but I find myself wishing it was one and half or even two times bigger.
Very well made and designed though.
