Short life

Comments On Nov 26, 2016:The (higher number grits 240-400) get smooth pretty quickly but when new they really do work..less mess...clean dust ....the 80 grit works forever....so buy at least more than you think you'll use if you like going low...I go to 400 and 600 before applying tung oil.

Extending the life of Abranet

Comments On Jul 26, 2016:I love Abranet paper for its consistency. When it clogs up, I can extend its life by giving it a quick spray with my air compressor. The compressor is next to the lathe so when the sheet becomes clogged, I put the nozzle against the sheet to clean it. It only takes seconds and the sheet becomes almost new.

Comments On Nov 02, 2015:The Abranet sanding screens are the absolute best answer for sanding both wooden and acrylic pen blanks on the lathe. The cut fast and smooth, you can knock the sanding dust out of the sheet for continued use. I recently used one 240 grit and one 600 grit sheets to complete over 50 bolt action pens. These are the answer to sanding pen blanks.

Comments On Apr 06, 2015:Great and we like it because they an be washed and while they are drying I use a new pack. They last a very long time. We do a lot of handcrafted items so we have to make sure we have extra packs on hand at all times. I now buy 3 packs at a time. Everyone should be using these sanding screen sheets!!

Comments On Apr 02, 2015:This Abranet sanding screen is great for my pen turning. I cut each piece into three and staple a stack of different grits together. No going back and forth for sandpaper, and can be kept in order easily this way. Also like the fact that because of the screen design, dust can be knocked out of them easily. Saw someone on YouTube say that they can be washed. Haven't had to try that yet. Long use!

Directional product

Comments On Jun 16, 2014:This is a long time coming blessing for turners who tend to get "heat shakes" in some off their pieces. The sanding dust filters through the mesh reducing heat build-up. The one problem I have seen with some people is they don't realize this is a directional product. By directional I mean that it sands much more aggressively one way than the other, and if used in the less aggressive direction you'll find that it wears out considerably faster. If you aren't sure which is which try rubbing a finger either way across it, you'll notice the "bite" difference immediately.

Comments On Apr 23, 2014:The first pack of Abranet I bought from another store didn't have 600 grit. I don't know why because it's a good grit. It really helps improve my final product when it comes to acrylics.
Some people say the abranet lasts a 10x longer than regular sandpaper -- I'm not entirely sure it's that extreme. But what I do know is that I get a consistently better sanding surface when I use abranet.

sanding made easy

Comments On May 12, 2013:this product is very useful for a variety of chores. after sanding a finished surface you can just wash it out. lasts ten times longer than conventional sandpaper. Because of it's flexibility, it's great for wood turning because it doesn't crease or tear.
