One of our favorite woods for turning, Ambrosia Maple offers colorful striping and overall great figure. It’s easy to cut and leaves a smooth surface with sharp tools. Sanding and finishing are quick and easy albeit you may need to fill a wormhole or two as you go.

The Ambrosia beetle causes the coloring found in these blanks. As the beetle burrows into the tree, it creates "worm-holes" and varying discoloration in the form of streaks. Turning blanks are sold partly seasoned with no guarantee of moisture content.
