Karl Hansen has spent years perfecting basket illusion woodturning, an intricate style that transforms a solid platter into what looks like a finely woven basket, complete with painstaking detail that can take dozens of hours to complete. When Karl went looking for a display stand worthy of holding pieces like these, he came up empty. Standard stands either failed to grip securely or lacked the stability to keep a large platter safely upright, an unacceptable risk for work that can’t be replaced. So he designed his own.
The result is the Hansen Platter Stand, built specifically to hold platters and shallow bowls securely on display, whether in your home, studio, or gallery. Karl teaches at the Dale L. Nish School of Woodturning here at Craft Supplies USA, and this stand reflects the same attention to detail he brings to his own turning: a secure, stable base that lets your work take center stage without a second thought about it tipping or sliding.
Assembly is simple and requires no tools. Align the notched portions of the base and the upright leg, then slide them together until they lock into place. Next, insert the two small feet into the holes on the base to complete the stand. Your platter or bowl can then be set securely in place for display.

Holds platters and shallow bowls up to 10" in diameter, ideal for showcasing mid-size turned work securely and beautifully.
Large
Holds platters up to 14" in diameter, giving your largest, most detailed pieces the stable, secure display they deserve.
